How the saving happens
One receipt, $4.15 back.
We do not count everything as saving.
Most apps would count every item you eat. Fango counts only the food that was already on its way out — the food you would otherwise have thrown away.
That is why the number in your stats tells you how much money actually stayed in your pocket. You can set the monthly target yourself or switch it off entirely.

Four steps
Scan the receipt. Fango reminds you. You save.
A photo of the receipt is enough.
Photograph a paper receipt, or share an e-receipt straight from your email, banking app or a delivery order confirmation. AI recognises the products and estimates shelf life — you confirm the dates.
- Works in every shop. A receipt comes from everywhere — no loyalty cards, no separate deals with retailers.
- Reads receipts from 34 countries and knows 26 currencies.
- Share a receipt from another app. Email, banking app or Files — PDF receipts too.
- A long receipt can be shot in several parts, and a single item added by hand.

Reminded exactly in time.
You get a notification in time — 1–14 days ahead, either for everything at once or item by item. An item can be marked eaten straight from the notification.
- Answer the notification directly: eaten, wasted, postpone by 2 days or move to the freezer.
- Freezer and pantry items are flagged more calmly, up to a month ahead.
- The home-screen widget stays current even if you do not open the app for days.
- Colours tell you at a glance what to use first.

A shopping list that learns.
Fango suggests what you buy regularly and what is running low in the fridge. The suggestions come from your old receipts and from what is in the fridge right now — neither of which a plain shopping list knows.
- No double buys. What is already in the fridge does not end up on the list.
- Items sort themselves into 13 aisles in the order you walk the shop.
- In shop mode the rows are large and a bar shows how much is left to find.
- You can set a budget for the list. The estimate drops as you tick items off.

One subscription, up to four people.
Fango can be shared across the whole household: up to four people see the same fridge contents and the same shopping lists. Nobody has to create an account — you join with an 8-character invite code.
- Only one person pays. The subscription covers all four — no separate family price and no add-on per person.
- Changes show up in seconds. When someone marks the milk as eaten, it disappears from everyone else’s phone at the same time — even when the app is in the background.
- You share lists one at a time. The weekly groceries for the whole household, the gift shopping only on your own phone.
- The goal is shared. Everything anyone rescues counts towards the household’s monthly target.

Why one app
One app, not five.
Remembers what to buy.
A good list tells you what to pick up. It does not know what is already at home or when it expires, so it does not save you a penny either.
Remembers the dates.
It does remind you, but every item has to be typed in by hand. After a couple of weeks the list no longer matches what is actually in the fridge.
Remembers both — and the price.
The receipt fills the list for you, the reminder arrives in time and your stats show how much you saved. The shopping list is included, but it is only one part.

Questions
Frequently asked questions
What does Fango cost?
The first month is free with every feature unlocked. After that the subscription is $2.99/£2.99 a month or $22.99/£22.99 a year, and it renews automatically until you cancel. You can cancel any time straight from the App Store or Google Play.
Does Fango work with my supermarket?
Fango reads receipts from 34 countries and isn’t tied to particular chains — no deal with the shop is needed. If a line isn’t recognised, you can fix it in the review screen before the items go into your fridge.
Do I need to create an account?
No. Fango works without a user account: no email, no password, no sign-in. You download the app and start scanning.
Can the fridge and shopping list be shared with my family?
Yes. One subscription covers up to four people in the same household, and the others do not need one of their own. Everyone sees the same fridge, freezer and pantry contents, and a change made by one person reaches the others in seconds. You choose which shopping lists are shared, and the rest stay on your own phone. Joining works with an 8-character invite code, so household sharing does not need a user account either.
What if I don’t have a paper receipt?
You can share an e-receipt to Fango straight from another app — an email attachment, your banking app, a delivery order confirmation or Files. PDF receipts work too. And you can always add a single item by hand in a few seconds.
How does Fango know how long something lasts?
AI estimates a shelf life for every item and suggests where it belongs — fridge, freezer or pantry. The estimate is a suggestion: you can change it, and Fango remembers your choice for future receipts.
Does the app work offline?
Browsing your fridge, marking items, the shopping list and reminders all work without a connection. Only receipt scanning needs one, because the photo is read by AI.
What can I do with the reminders?
You choose how many days before expiry a reminder arrives — 1 to 14 days, per item or for everything at once. From the notification you can mark an item eaten or wasted, postpone the date or move it to the freezer without opening the app.
Is Fango available in other languages?
Fango is available in eight languages: English, Finnish, Swedish, Norwegian, Danish, Dutch, German and Spanish. Every text is written natively in each language, not machine-translated.
What is “up to $60 a month” based on?
Household food waste has been measured in several countries: the UK’s WRAP estimates around £1,000 a year for a family of four, the US Environmental Protection Agency around $2,900 and the Department of Agriculture around $1,500 a year. $60 a month is an estimate of what stopping that waste can bring back — not a promise. Fango shows your own number in the stats, and only food that was about to expire counts towards it. How much does food waste cost?
